PIBC is supporting our Deployed Families - If you are going to be deployed, you can rest assured that the PIBC Ohana will support and help your family while you are away. You may contact Lynn Patterson at 206-8506 to let her know that you will be deployed. Lynn will ask for the date you will be deployed so that measures can be taken to ensure your family will adequately supported while you are deployed.

New! Support of the Peterson Family in light of Craig's recent job loss at Aloha Airlines and his recent back surgery

Aloha Friends and Family of the Peterson’s,

The Peterson family is going through some difficult times presently. Craig has recently been furloughed from Aloha Airlines and also his back has been re-injured and requires surgery. Craig had surgery by Dr. Robert Bray in Marina del Rey, California today (Tuesday, April 22nd) at 7:30 am Pacific Daylight Time. Dr. Bray is a specialist with over 3,000 back surgeries and very respected in his field. Dr. Bray performed a different surgery than what could be obtained in Hawaii. However, the Peterson’s medical insurance does not cover very much of the expenses, and they must pay $12,000 to Dr. Bray who is having compassion on them and doing this surgery for cost only.

Many people are asking how they can assist the Peterson’s monetarily. So, Pacific Islands Bible Church (PIBC) has established a “Special Appeals Fund.” This Fund will assist the Peterson’s with Craig’s medical expenses. The Fund also provides a way for people to give to PIBC and receive a tax-deduction. PIBC will reimburse the Peterson’s for medical expenses commensurate with the gifts received through this Special Appeals Fund.

Should you want to help the Peterson’s financially to pay for medical expenses, send your monetary donation to: Pacific Islands Bible Church, 95-075 Waikalani Drive, Mililani, Hawaii 96789 with a Memo: “Special Appeals Fund.” Please provide your name and address on a separate paper (if it is not shown on your check) so that you can receive a tax-deductible receipt for this year. If the Lord blesses above-and-beyond, any balance will be transferred to the PIBC Caring Ministry Benevolence Fund.

The deadline for PIBC to receive your donation is June 30th, 2008. The Peterson’s will not know who has given to this Fund, but they thank you all! Checks should be made payable to: Pacific Islands Bible Church, or you may donate through PayPal, by Clicking HERE.

Thank you for your care and assistance!

Elders of Pacific Islands Bible Church

Greeters Needed - Help is needed in our Greeters Ministry. Greeters welcome everyone coming to join us on Sunday morning passing out bulletins, writing out name tags, or helping people find their way around our building. This is a fun ministry to be involved in. If you can help in this ministry, please contact Kristie Hayes, 623-8372.

Visitors Ministry - We love when people come to visit PIBC. A Welcome Table is now at our Front Door where visitors may pick-up brochures or flyers and sign a Guest Book. If you would like to be a part of welcoming visitors to PIBC, please contact either LaVerne Yasue, 848-6564 or Kristie Hayes, 623-8372.

Our Building - It is rare to find those who really take ownership of our facility. Most people don't think of the church building as "theirs" when the reality is that each member of the PIBC Ohana really does "own" the building. It is "ours". Not the Pastor's, not Grandpastor's, not the property of a non profit corporation, but each member's building. And just like we take the responsibility to clean and keep up our homes so we should with our building. When we all adopt that attitude then it becomes a labor of love and not a burden for a few. Please consider how you can take part in the regular maintenance of our building. How can you do that? Indicate your willingness by filling out the response card in the seat back pocket and place it in the offering/ response baskets around the sanctuary, or email Pastor Mark at mark@pibcohana.org for an area where you may help in the care and maintenance of our building. Some things that currently need to be done are: yard maintenance, gutter clean out, new shed set up, inside and outside touch up paint, trips to the dump (if you have a truck), and inside cleaning.

Visitor Stalls - We have reserved the three parking stalls nearest to the front parking lot walkway for visitors. The stalls have been painted with yellow lines. Please avoid parking in these stalls so we can accommodate our guests. These stalls will open up for general parking at 10:00 AM., when the service begins.

PIBC Food Bank - Working together to spiritually and physically meet the needs of the poor to move them closer to God - Day of Operation: 3rd Wednesday of the month - The PIBC Food Bank Need Your Help - Click HERE to find out how you may help. Contact Person: Kate Buccigross at 672-4491 or 625-0411. PLEASE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE FOOD. Food to be distributed only by the PIBC Food Bank ministry. The PIBC Food Bank services many of our Ohana families and those in our neighborhood. We believe our responsibility is to feed families and individuals both spiritually and physically according to Scripture.

In order to wisely steward this ministry, those asking for help must fill-out an Application Form. The Form helps us to assess their needs and to know how to help them. Food will be distributed only to those who have a Form on file. If you are approached for help, then these guidelines should be followed:

  • Give them an Application Form - located in the hanging pocket on the Food Bank door.
  • Ask them to take this Form and to fill it out and return it to our Office.
  • If they've previously filled out an Application Form and need food before the next day of operation, take their name and telephone no, or a way for us to reach them. Someone will get back to them.

Financial Counseling - If you would like help with you finances and to meet with someone, please call the Church Office at 625-0411 and ask for either Pastor Mark or Adele or call Craig Peterson at 625-0558. Or, you may also let us know by filling out a Response Card and dropping it any Offer Box.

Caring Ministry Fund - The Elders have designated a fund to help PIBC Ohana members who are in a crisis and in need of assistance. Distribution of Caring Ministry funds is done on a case-by-case basis. This ministry is designed to help meet the immediate physical needs i.e. food or clothing of those in our Ohana that are lacking due to events beyond their control. If you would like to give over and above your regular tithing commitment, please mark you check or giving envelope: "Caring Ministry." This fund is subject to the redirection, control and discretion of the Elders.
